Position Summary:
Proudly based in Stratford, Ontario, the team at Crawford Lawyers are leaders in the field of civil litigation. Our clients trust us to handle matters relating to construction law, employment disputes, and real estate litigation. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for an Associate Civil Litigator to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare arguments for court proceedings.
* Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, court staff, and other parties involved in the cases.
* Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences as required.
* Collaborate with the owner lawyer to develop case strategies and provide legal advice to clients.
* Carriage of civil litigation matters on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Requirements:
* LL.B. or J.D. degree from a recognised law school.
* Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
* 1-3 years of experience practising civil litigation. Experience with construction lien proceedings in particular will be considered an asset.
* Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
* Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office Suite.

This is an in-person position based in Stratford, Ontario. While remote or hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis, the strong preference will be for a candidate who is willing and able to work in-person at our downtown Stratford office.
