(what your role and responsibility is) Work alongside the existing Buying team for the procurement of Site Materials in a cost-effective and timely manner. Managing a team of buyers to oversee the operation of agreements with a range of established suppliers to ensure material and plant purchases meet business needs. Supporting and developing each team member to maintain a professional and competent buying service. Acting as an interface between internal customers and suppliers – placing purchase orders as required, getting approved suppliers set up on the COINS system, and ensuring the approvals process is adhered to by the team. Ensuring invoices are processed effectively to adhere to prompt payment standards. Regularly reviewing the efficiency of supply arrangements and purchase decision-making, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Taking responsibility for resolving supply issues and disputes with suppliers. Negotiating with external suppliers to meet business needs and deliver business plan performance targets. Actively searching for and researching potential new suppliers as needed. Leading on the RFQ process for supplies not dealt with by the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
