This role is critical in ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with UK accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance operations.
We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to assist in financial reporting, budget management, and month-end processes.
The successful candidate will oversee key accounting functions, support the reconciliation of accounts, analyse financial data, and collaborate with colleagues to optimise financial performance. This position demands a highly analytical, organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities
The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time in order to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include those listed below:
Supporting internal controls and financial processes:
* Development of delegation of authority across all financial processes and controls.
Cashflow and Budget:
* Monthly cashflow reporting to protect working capital levels;
* Annual cash management and forecasting;
* Monthly VAT returns and reconciliation;
* Support the monthly Management Accounts preparation;
* Support the Capex process with regular reporting and reviews;
Supporting the Financial Controller & Supporting the Finance Team:
* Provide cover within the team as required.
Level of Knowledge and Experience
* Working knowledge of NAV;
* Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel;
* Self-motivated and willing to manage own workload, as well as work with team members effectively.
Advantageous:
* Qualified Accountant;
* Experience working in the manufacturing industry.
