Job Description
Working Capital and Efficiency Lead job (12-month FTC) with a large Glasgow-based organisation.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
Working Capital Management:
1. Develop and manage working capital strategies to optimise liquidity and operational efficiency
2. Lead cash flow forecasting, monitoring variances and recommending actions to mitigate risks or improve performance
3. Oversee the management of accounts receivable and payable to maintain strong cash flow and minimise delays
Financial Efficiency:
1. Conduct VfM reviews on key expenditure lines, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommendations that enhance financial efficiency
3. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to financial processes
Leadership and Oversight:
1. Manage and support the Debt Controller, ensuring effective credit control processes and minimising aged debt
2. Provide mentorship and guidance to the Transaction Services team to ensure best practices in financial operations
3. Act as a liaison between the Transaction Services section and other finance teams, ensuring alignment of objectives
Reporting and Analysis:
1. Prepare and present working capital and financial efficiency reports to senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
2. Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by providing insights into cash flow and working capital metrics
3. Support audits and compliance reviews related to working capital and financial operations
The Individual:
1. Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW etc.)
2. Available within 4 weeks’ notice
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
4. Demonstrated experience in a similar role within industry
