Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a temporary band 6 post working within the Deafness team. The Central Speech and Language therapy team consists of 45+ staff working in different clinical areas. The team are approachable and keen to support each other, B7 clinical leads provide supervision.
The successful applicant will value the opportunity to work in partnership with parents, colleagues, and staff in education and social care settings to achieve the best outcomes for those in their care.
Main duties of the job
To provide:
* Assessment
* Advice to parents/carers/setting staff
* Training
* Therapy Plans and Outcomes
* Therapy
* Reports for ENCHA, Transition, Annual Review etc.
* Data as required
* Up to date clinical competencies in line with HCPC requirements

Job responsibilities
As a therapist with two or three years of experience, you will be keen to further develop your skills in your chosen specialist area. You will work as part of a well-supported team and be able to contribute your well-developed skills to the efficient and safe running of your part of the service. You will be able to support students, Speech and Language Therapy Assistants, and NQTs/Band 5s and demonstrate resilience and early leadership skills. You will actively seek opportunities to further your knowledge and skills.
You will be able to:
* Assess children
* Advise families and settings
* Provide Therapy - individual; group; direct/indirect; remote/face to face
* Train others
* Write Reports and Intervention Plans
* Use outcome measures
* Use System One electronic notes
* Attend and contribute to Team and Locality Meetings

Qualifications
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Qualification/MRCSL
* HCPC Registration
* Membership of RCSLT
Experience
* Experience of independently managing a clinical caseload
* Working in partnership with parents, teachers, and other carers/support workers
* Experience of working within a relevant specialist area and developing specialist packages of care
* Inter-agency planning, consultation, and working
* Experience of a range of caseload management and prioritisation systems
Skills and knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills/oral & written communication
* Well-established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group
* Well-established knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group
* Good negotiation, problem-solving, and organisational skills
