Commercial Director for Renewable Energy Platform (Offtake Vehicle for Operational Wind Farm)

As a Commercial Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our operations and business development efforts, ensuring that we continue to thrive in an ever-evolving market.
The Commercial Director will lead and drive the commercial strategy for the company, focusing on scaling and advancing our platform’s ability to manage and expand renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. This role requires a dynamic individual with experience across multiple sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, and franchise negotiations. The Commercial Director will leverage both strategic vision and operational insight to create large-scale partnerships, negotiate with key stakeholders, and ensure the successful expansion and implementation of our business model.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Vision
* Develop and implement the long-term commercial strategy for the renewable energy platform, including partnerships, franchise agreements, and EV infrastructure expansion.
* Collaborate with the executive team to drive growth, market share, and profitability, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision and mission.
* Lead market analysis to identify new opportunities, emerging trends, and potential areas for expansion (such as global and local EV infrastructure developments).
Business Development and Partner Relationships
* Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic partnerships and offtake agreements with a variety of stakeholders including government bodies, EV manufacturers, corporate buyers, and large infrastructure operators.
* Lead the negotiation process for franchise agreements, ensuring that all terms meet both long-term sustainability and profitability goals.
* Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in both the renewable energy and EV sectors, including utilities, local governments, contractors, and technology providers.
* Forge alliances that align with the company’s objectives for scaling renewable energy solutions and expanding infrastructure.
Renewable Energy & EV Infrastructure Development
* Collaborate with the technical and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of renewable energy solutions into the overall infrastructure.
* Support the development of business models for large-scale EV charging networks and renewable energy production, with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
* Work closely with external developers, investors, and contractors to enable the rapid and efficient expansion of wind farm infrastructure and related EV projects.
Contract & Franchise Negotiations
* Lead the negotiation of contracts with both private and public sector partners, ensuring mutually beneficial terms while mitigating risks.
* Oversee the establishment of franchise agreements that enable the growth and proliferation of EV charging infrastructure, working alongside legal and operations teams to structure agreements effectively.
* Manage relationships with existing franchisees and offtakers to ensure smooth execution of contracts and identify future opportunities for business expansion.
Financial Management and Reporting
* Oversee commercial performance, ensuring profitable outcomes through effective pricing strategies, cost management, and performance monitoring.
* Work closely with the finance department to develop and manage financial models, budgets, and forecasting for new ventures.
* Provide regular updates on the financial health and progress of commercial initiatives to the executive leadership team.
Marketing and Stakeholder Communication
* Develop and implement communication strategies to increase brand awareness, promote partnerships, and educate key stakeholders on the benefits of renewable energy and EV solutions.
* Represent the company at industry conferences, stakeholder meetings, and public forums to advocate for the platform’s mission and vision.
* Oversee the production of key marketing materials and content tailored to both potential partners and the general public.
Team Leadership and Development
* Lead and mentor a high-performing commercial team, setting clear goals, KPIs, and expectations to drive success.
* Ensure continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Required Skills and Experience:
Industry Experience:
* At least 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or electric vehicle sectors.
* Proven track record in driving business development, managing large-scale franchise agreements, and working with a variety of stakeholders (government, utilities, private investors, etc.).
* Knowledge of the energy landscape, with a focus on wind energy, EV infrastructure, and related technologies.
Negotiation Expertise:
* Extensive experience in negotiating complex contracts, partnerships, and franchise agreements in the energy or infrastructure space.
* Strong ability to manage and balance multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities while achieving win-win outcomes.
Financial Acumen:
* In-depth understanding of financial modelling, P&L management, and investment evaluations.
* Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasting for large-scale infrastructure projects and renewable energy ventures.
Strategic Vision:
* Exceptional ability to formulate and execute long-term strategies for both business growth and the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure.
* Ability to anticipate market trends and adapt business models accordingly.
Leadership and Team Management:
* Strong leadership skills with a focus on team-building, coaching, and motivating high-performing commercial teams.
* Experience managing cross-functional teams, working alongside technical, operational, and financial departments.
