About the role: To work with the Operations Manager to deliver the aims and objectives of the National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency team on behalf of Powys County Council and Bristol City Council, in conjunction with National Trading Standards across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland You’ll be working in a team which acts as the Lead Enforcement Authority for estate agency work in the UK and lettings legislation in England. We work across Local Authority boundaries to offer advice and guidance to other enforcers. Our enforcement functions and investigations are only part of this role, and you will be working on national projects which help inform local and regional enforcement, promoting intelligence sharing and collaborative working by leading from the front. About you: You’ll be passionate about your profession, whether you’re from Housing, Environmental Health, Trading Standards or anywhere else. You’ll be excited about getting involved with projects which have a national impact. You’ll be ready to challenge yourself by working in a unique team of experienced professionals with a variety of workstreams. You’re a person who wants to make a difference for tenants and homebuyers as well as improving enforcement methods and driving up industry standards. You will be happy to produce and present at conferences and regional events throughout the UK You have a keen eye for detail when analysing data from a variety of sources, including our own processes and procedures and when investigating breaches of a variety of legislation. What you will do: Lead investigations across the UK in the estate agency industry and in England for lettings, including issuing monetary penalties Help deliver training, webinars, podcasts and presentations to industry and enforcement agencies. Work on projects to improve intelligence and support collaboration. Help to develop policy and national priorities as part of the team’s remit Represent the team at meetings with numerous stakeholders including DLUHC and other government agencies.
