What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker (Bristol):
The opportunity for the Mental Health Support Worker will primarily involve supporting students in the classroom with their mental health and assisting with their education and training.
These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions, stemming from childhood trauma, which causes stress, anxiety, and depression. You will help them process and regulate their emotions. The school is looking for someone who is patient and ideally has a passion for mental health.
You will shadow the class teacher and provide support with general classroom duties. You will also have the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals and benefit from excellent education and training opportunities.
The successful Mental Health Support Worker (Bristol):
The successful candidate will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. You must be flexible and able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude is most important, and you must be passionate about making a difference.
