The Role SONI is required to calculate various Tariffs on an annual basis. This involves gathering and checking source data and following a detailed process to arrive at new numbers. For most of the Tariffs there is then a consultation period with affected stakeholders which includes the Utility Regulator. As this team is relatively small, the role will also include data analysis on a wide range of commercial areas. For example, this could include forecasting future expenditure for business planning and/or checking data that is published from renewable data to financial expenditure. Hence the role has a core element of Tariffs and a general element of any data analysis required by the wider team. In addition, the role holder will also likely be trained in any of the processes the team carries out to allow the senior members of the team to be released for delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of the Imperfections Charge and Reporting. This is an annual budget of around £300 m- £400m to enable SONI to cover redispatch costs. Be the SONI analytical lead for all the all-island and jurisdictional Tariffs and support Regulation in delivery. This includes Transmission Loss Adjustment Factors (TLAFS), Generator Use of System (GTUoS) and Supplier Transmission use of System (STUoS), Other System Charges (OSC) and Testing Tariffs. Develop future forecasts for the Tariffs and / or any financial expenditure e.g. System Services expenditure. Provide analytical support for any queries or disputes. Develop dashboards for visualisation of data. Update ENTSOe platforms on tariffs s per EU Regulations. Be a good communicator in explaining the results and main drivers to technical and non-technical audiences. Carry out daily/weekly or monthly processes as required. What You’ll Need Joining SONI as a System Support Tariff & Data Analyst, you’ll need: Essential: University degree or relevant degree/ background in an analytical degree with an emphasis on coding, data management and analysis; with 2 years relevant experience. General proficiency in MS applications such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Exemplary analysis and problem-solving skills along with an ability to make recommendations in a changing and dynamic environment, which balance competing requirements. Strong ability to develop and provide innovative solutions to complex issues in a timely manner. Able to extract data from different systems using a variety of methods. Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Excellent presentation and negotiation skills. Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry relevant to the role. Excellent organisational skills and strong track record of delivery. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide own work under minimal supervision. Passionate, engaging with a drive and enthusiasm to deliver on the company vision and strategy. Flexibility and agility to manage a wide range of issues at the same time. Desirable: Electrical Engineering Degree and or power systems background. Experience in Python. Experience in Excel macros. Experience of Tableau. Experience of Plexos.
