Hi, I'm Cheryl Ali, Clinical Service Manager for Inpatient Units in Herts, and I am looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse to join my senior leadership team. As the Modern Matron, you will support me, provide leadership, deliver on and monitor standards, and support and drive innovations for the two rehabilitation units at Langley House in Watford.
This Modern Matron post supports both Midway (28 bedded general rehab unit) and Holywell (20 bedded stroke and neurological rehab unit), and the postholder will work very closely with the Head of Service, Clinical Service Manager, Clinical Lead Therapists, and Ward Managers to develop the services, looking at new ways of working and implementing change to further enhance staff, patient, and family experience.
Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be accountable for the provision of effective professional nursing leadership and pro-active nursing resource management for the Units. As an experienced practitioner, the post-holder will be expected to create an environment of continuous quality improvement and professional development, ensuring that the delivery of care is regularly reviewed and that service developments are implemented when necessary.
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Matron’s Charter and hence will promote best practice in the prevention of infection, ensuring a clean and safe environment and that clinical practices are in accordance with Trust policy and best practice guidelines to minimize the risk of infection.
