Carriera are representing a highly reputable consultancy for their growing office in South London, we are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join their CDM / H&S team as a CDM / H&S Consultant. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for providing CDM consultancy services under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015. Additionally, you will act as a Client Advisor, Principal Designer, and Principal Designer Advisor. You will also provide advisory services under the Building Safety Act 2022 and all relevant health and safety legislation.
This role has a flexible salary for good reason, my client is happy to entertain candidates who have a great H&S background and would be excited and driven to enhance their CDM/PD knowledge, similarly, they would also be happy with someone with already a great knowledge of CDM regulations and Principal designer duties, the main thing they will look for is the drive and investment from you to want to do well.
Responsibilities:
Act as the regulatory Principal Designer and the non-regulatory roles of Principal Designer Advisor and Client Advisor under the CDM Regulations 2015.
Fulfill the role of Health and Safety Advisor in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation.
Serve as a Building Safety Advisor under the Building Safety Act 2022 and all relevant legislation.
Work collaboratively with the established CDM / H&S team and other disciplines to produce high-quality work.
Continuously improve and enhance your skillsets and competencies to effectively deliver required tasks.
Proactively and respectfully liaise with clients and stakeholders, representing and promoting the business.
Understand and effectively apply hazard and risk information, communicating all mitigations to eliminate, reduce, or control foreseeable risks during design and construction.
Ensure that all advice given aligns with the latest relevant legislation.
Conduct inspections related to CDM, BSA, and H&S, and produce well-written reports reflecting findings and making recommendations.
Assist the team manager in the ongoing development and improvement of the team, both internally and externally, contributing to the growth and turnover of the team.
Support the team in maintaining professional memberships and accreditations.
Independently manage projects while considering the needs of the team and colleagues.
Engage in business development activities, building relationships, influencing potential clients, and winning work.
Attend industry events, seminars, and expos to enhance brand awareness.
Stay updated with technical knowledge and complete CPD at a level expected for a professional consultant.
Provide ad hoc support to the team manager.
Perform any other duties reasonably required following consultation.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of CDM2015.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Building Safety Act 2022.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Construction Health and Safety Management.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Occupational Health and Safety Management.
Holder of a full, clean driving license and access to a fully insured and taxed, roadworthy vehicle with requisite business use insurance.
Educational Requirements and Professional Qualifications:
Minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
Hold appropriate professional memberships.
Completion and evidence of CPD and skills/knowledge progression.
