Located just two miles from the historic city of Lincoln, The Laurels provides specialist neurological rehabilitation and support to patients with acquired and traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury. Therefore, this role is ideal for candidates with Band 7 equivalent experience, who can confidently work independently and autonomously. With the position being one day per week, it is well-suited to individuals with other commitments, such as additional employment, training, and/or personal obligations, offering a flexible work arrangement. Our comprehensive approach includes physical, cognitive, functional, and vocational assessments, along with behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults. What you'll be working: This role is 7.5 hours per week, and we are happy to discuss a flexible working pattern. What you'll be doing: In this role you will deliver a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service, managing and prioritising a caseload of patients with highly complex speech, language and communication impairments and swallowing difficulties. Using evidence-based patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, that complement working in a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit. The post-holder will: Assess, diagnose, and develop individualised treatment plans for service users with complex communication and/or swallowing difficulties. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Provide specialist advice and training to families, carers, and other professionals. Supervise and mentor junior staff and students. Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
