Job Description: Mechanical Field Service Engineer A Snapshot of Your Day Siemens Energy is currently seeking highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineers to join our team in the UK region. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning, fault finding, maintaining, and servicing equipment related to our Compression & Gas Turbines (SGT) product lines, including Centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressors, Rotating Equipment, and Siemens Energy Small Gas Turbines (SGT 100-400). What You Bring As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you should possess a professional, proactive, and flexible approach to your work. You should have a strong work ethic, demonstrate initiative, and be a flexible self-starter, capable of working alone or within teams with a diverse range of people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Ideally, you should have a degree or vocational qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. You should also have competency in one or more of the above product lines, with experience and/or training to carry out routine maintenance, overhauls, installation, and commissioning work. A desire to cross-train on other product lines will be advantageous. Additionally, you should be able to mobilize at short notice for emergency situations and be willing to work away from home for extended periods, including weekends and Bank Holidays. Offshore work may be required, so holding or being able to obtain offshore working certificates is necessary. A current UK driving license is also required. Experience with tools such as Borescopes, Rotalign Laser Alignment, and other associated tooling is preferred. The ability to interpret piping and installation drawings, general engineering drawings, and controls schematics is essential. How You'll Make an Impact Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on Siemens Energy products. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of driven equipment operation, service, and maintenance in both Gas Compression and Power Generation applications. Perform mechanical installation, servicing, and repair on Centrifugal and Reciprocating Compressors (Dresser Rand Designed) and Power Turbines (DR291 and Vectra) or similar. Perform mechanical installation, servicing, and repair on Siemens SGT 100-400 or similar. Knowledge of other Siemens Energy Gas Turbines would be advantageous. Knowledge of Package Air, Fuel, Oil auxiliary systems. Carry out mechanical installation and commissioning activities on newly installed equipment. Troubleshoot and rectify faults. Work safely and in accordance with the company's written operating instructions. Participate in product training programs to ensure continued role competency and/or development. Produce technical reports based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues and improve system reliability and availability. Participate in root cause analysis and fault diagnostics as required.
