About the job:
In this role, you will:
* Follow drawings, instructions, and customer specifications, utilizing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge. Usually the sole FMS engineer on-site.
* Operate equipment through installation and commissioning, ensuring performance and quality meet specifications.
* Train customer personnel on maintenance, adjustments, and repairs.
* Repair worn or defective equipment.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues on-site and internally.
* Work on refurbishments, re-tools, and refits as needed.
* Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics.
* Identify opportunities for promoting additional services and spare parts.
* Maintain tools and test equipment, organizing self according to lean principles and 5S standards.
About you:
* NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or experience.
* Knowledge of multi-axis machine tools, especially 5-axis machining centres.
* Experience with PLC and CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc, etc.).
* Understanding of Field Bus Profinet, Profibus.
* Full driving license and ability to travel within the UK and abroad.
* Flexible working hours, including extended hours and shifts.
* Knowledge of grinding processes is highly desirable.
* Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
* Ability to work under pressure independently or in a team.
* Problem-solving skills, referring complex issues to higher levels.
