We are seeking an Art Tutor to join the Education Team based at HMP Erlestoke to deliver Art classes to diverse groups of learners. As a successful Art Tutor, you will be inspiring and deliver exciting and engaging Art classes where learners can develop not only their creative skills, but softer skills, confidence and personal progress they can apply to other areas of their education and life upon release. The prison is built on the former grounds of Erlestoke Manor House and has expanded in both offender numbers and intervention programmes. HMP Erlestoke’s focus is firmly fixed on reducing re-offending and preventing future victims of crime by preparing offenders for their release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational based training and education, in a pro social environment. Courses at HMP Erlestoke include Maths, English, IT, Horticulture, Carpentry, Cleaning and Support Services, Hospitality, Creative Craft, Customer Service, Team Leading, Learning Support and much more. The education delivery hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 11.15am, 2.00pm - 4.30pm and on Fridays 8.30am - 11.15am. Erlestoke staff and learners get involved with various projects each year. In 24/25 Erlestoke held an archaeological dig and a two week Arts festival “ Penned Up “ giving learners the opportunity to hear from authors refreshing attitudes ,thinking and developing a focus on reading. Erlestoke issues an internal magazine highlighting various events, projects and support alongside articles, interviews and shared experiences as well as promoting well-being and education.
