Role: Senior Support Worker Location: Serenita ARBD Care Home, Weston-super-Mare Hours: 3 days / 34.5 hours per week, 07.45-20.00, includes alternate weekends. Salary: Starting at £12.75 per hour (£2 p/h overtime) THE ROLE: Serenita ARBD Care Home are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Senior Support Worker. Serenita provides specialist support for individuals living with Korsakoff’s syndrome, with mental health problems and the effects of Alcohol-Related Brain Damage. As a Senior Support Worker you will ensure a high standard of person-centred care and support is provided to the people living at Serenita. You will also act as a role model for the care team and will provide them with supervision and line management support. DUTIES INCLUDE: Working closely with the people living at the service on a one-to-one basis. Providing support with their day-to-day care and supporting them to access the community Having an active role in care planning, including the implementation of care and support and monthly care plan reviews. Carrying out risk assessments Evaluating the care delivered, ensuring person centred care is delivered at all times Making decisions in emergency situations Supporting care staff / new members of staff, and offer ongoing training and supervision, thus encouraging them to carry out their daily duties to the best of their abilities Ensuring observations are kept up to date and recorded accurately Supporting with and sometimes administering medication, therefore medication administration training is preferred but can be worked towards Ordering and checking medications Carrying out key care staff supervisions Reporting concerns and accidents THE REWARDS: Additional £2 per hour overtime enhancement Comprehensive induction and training Diploma in Health and Social Care opportunities Access to Concerts for Carers Competitive rates of pay Company pension scheme Blue Light Card discount scheme THE RIGHT PERSON: Will hold a level 2 diploma (or above) in Health and Social Care Will have level 2 medication training or be willing to work towards this Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work both as a team member and on own initiative Must be loyal, flexible and committed Will be willing to attend training courses in line with personal development Will be willing to carry out any other necessary duties as agreed with Directors/Operations Team Our company values are at the heart of what we do.
