Elevation Accountancy and Finance are excited to be working with a fantastic business in the Rotherham area as they look to recruit an established Assistant Accountant with hands on purchasing experience into their team.
Reporting to and supporting the Finance Manager, you will be joining a small friendly team, as a pivotal role within the finance and operations team - the role will be predominantly finance focused, but will also hold responsibility for some of the buying activities! They are looking for a team player (it’s all hands on deck!), who is keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, with strong Excel skills who can hit the ground running!!
Duties will include:
1. Monthly Stock Controls
2. Monthly Stock Costings
3. Prepayments/Accruals
4. Fixed Assets
5. HR/Payroll
6. Posted Journals /Cashbook/Petty Cash Reconciliations
7. Assisting with development of spreadsheets to help other team members
8. Help in Prep of Management accounts
9. Help in Prep of Annual accounts
10. Help with Adhoc Reporting to Group
11. Filing of National Statistics
12. VAT Returns including Reconciliation
13. Generating purchase orders
14. Keeping track of stock and manage budgets effectively
15. Managing the order book and scheduling
16. Maintaining regular communication with other departments to streamline processes
17. Maintaining Commodity/ Import codes
18. Monitoring quotas
19. Reconciliation Deferment accounts
20. Reporting to Group
21. Admin of import documents /sending to clearing agents
22. Basic Admin Duties
Person Specification:
23. Previous experience within an all round accounts role
24. Strong Excel skills
25. Analytical skills with attention to detail
26. Team player!
27. Good communication skills
28. Good with computer systems
