Fire Specification Business Development Manager

We are working on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in the fire and security industry looking for a Fire Specification Business Development Manager for a national role. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a successful and dynamic team.
The role involves promoting an extensive range of fire and security products to specifiers and consultants, with a primary focus on driving growth within the specification market. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in specification sales and have the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including national developers, M&E Consultant groups, large property companies, and major contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities within the fire and construction industries.
2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal managers to formulate and execute long-term business development strategies.
3. Client Engagement: Deliver compelling presentations, develop strong client relationships, and position the company’s products as the preferred choice for major specifications.
4. Information Sharing: Ensure effective communication with colleagues and management, particularly for cross-regional projects and market opportunities.
5. Market Penetration: Work to replace competitor specifications with the company’s fire product range.
6. Account Management: Negotiate and maintain key account agreements, ensuring strong partnerships are upheld.
7. CRM and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company’s CRM system.
8. Industry Expertise: Stay informed about competitor products and market trends, sharing insights with the Product Development and Management teams.
9. Project Support: Undertake take-offs for fire systems and assist the sales team in creating accurate quotes.
10. CPD Delivery: Deliver CPD seminars and develop tailored presentations to educate clients on the latest technologies and fire-related topics.

1. You have experience in specification sales within the fire or construction industries.
2. You excel at building and maintaining strong client relationships.
3. You are highly self-motivated, with excellent time management skills.
4. You possess strong presentation and negotiation skills.
5. You thrive in a competitive market and can effectively differentiate products based on quality and service.
