We are seeking a passionate and innovative Consultant Paediatrician to be a core part of our MDT team working alongside our Consultant Child Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapist.
Your role is to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care for patients and their families. You will lead the delivery of our Autism Assessment pathway for children 0-3 and provide expert paediatrician guidance to our wider Autism and ADHD clinical assessment teams.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities:
1. Be the clinical expert for our Autism Assessment pathway for children 0-3, partnering with our Product Team to ensure a fantastic family experience.
2. Deliver autism assessments to children aged 0-3.
3. Recruit, train, and develop our paediatricians skilled in completing autism assessments in children 0-3.
4. Work with our MDT team to continuously improve our existing autism and ADHD assessment pathways.
5. Contribute to complex patient MDT discussions to support diagnostic decision making for autism and ADHD in children in line with DSM-V criteria.
6. Stay abreast of the latest research and evidence-based practices in autism diagnosis, treatment, and management.
Qualifications and experience
Required:
* Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health with GMC registration.
* Experience as a Consultant in a neurodevelopmental assessment or equivalent services (e.g. community paediatrics or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
* Significant experience in conducting assessments for autism in children, making diagnostic decisions, and supporting differential diagnosis, and evidence-based management approaches.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide less experienced staff.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, fostering strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
* Passion for innovation and utilising technology to enhance care delivery.
Time commitment: Part time and full time roles are available.
Location: At our Devon clinic in Exeter, with occasional travel to other clinics in Devon.
Reporting to: Autism Team Manager.
