We are seeking a skilled and reliable Category B licence driver to join our dedicated Street Cleaning team at Bridec Depot, Bridport. This role involves driving a variety of 3.5t vehicles owned and operated by Dorset Council, contributing to maintaining a clean and safe environment for our community. You must hold a valid Category B driving licence and be prepared to work in all weather conditions, with early starts and flexible hours as part of the role. Strong communication skills and the ability to both follow and give instructions are essential, as you will interact regularly with members of the public. This physically demanding role includes a range of responsibilities such as cleansing, loading duties, lifting and carrying boxes or bags, moving wheeled bins, and supporting the collection and disposal of waste materials. A solid understanding of Health and Safety is required, and previous experience in waste management, as well as good local knowledge, would be advantageous. The position is full-time, requiring 37 hours per week on average, working on a rota to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Additional hours may also be required, so flexibility is key.
