Duties and Key Responsibilities · Supervision of QC Technicians. Providing QC cover as determined by staffing levels. Providing cover for the Quality Systems Manager and QC Technicians as required. Attending daily update meetings, feeding back and acting on issues and concerns. Communicate effectively with other Departments on the status of Quality testing for products and raw materials. · Planning own work efficiently so that it is carried out in the shortest possible time, consistent with priorities set by the Quality Systems Manager. Running day to day taste panels, triangles and other testing; preparation of samples for organoleptic testing, recording and circulation of results. Re-sampling and retesting materials and products and communicating results of tests, agreeing corrective actions. Managing reject stock following the testing and write off process. Ensuring non-conformances are raised for all Quality rejections, so they can be investigated. Working with the Analytical team to manage any GCMS testing requirements. Ensuring that each customer’s requirements for Certificates of Analysis are met. Ensuring good laboratory practice is followed at all times. Suggesting improvements to practices and process in the lab and factory. Carrying out all operations safely and without risk to self or to others; observing Company and Departmental safety rules at all times. Acquiring sufficient knowledge of the materials, products and test procedures to understand the purpose and significance of all tasks to be performed Ensure samples that require external testing at an external laboratory are sent in a timely manner. Manage expectations with internal customer on due date of results and products are released in a timely manner once results received. Manage the process of releasing stock under micro concession. Communicate time scales and requirements with customers and follow up with completed certificate of analysis once results are received. Completing tasks in the product launch process ensuring no delay in launching new products. · Support the complaints Co-ordinator in the investigation of complaints, quickly resolving quality issues. Managing testing of OOD stock as required. Attend meeting to review OOD stock with wider business and follow up on actions assigned in these meetings. Provide weekly KPIs on progress to the Quality Manager Ordering consumables for the lab. Ensure that the lab is suitably equipped to complete all testing with no delays. Take on management of certain aspects of the quality function in the factory e.g. pest control, management of calibration, environmental monitoring. Being responsible for an area of the factory by Completing GMP audits to schedule Carrying out glass and hard plastic checks Taking a part in continuous improvement projects for that area Completing scheduled and ad hoc internal audits and checks.
