Duties: To provide ongoing support for students with ongoing issues which impact their wellbeing and learning and escalate urgent safeguarding concerns To promote student resilience and independence through liaison with internal teams and health and wellbeing agencies Raise Awareness amongst the college community of local and national safeguarding and wellbeing priorities and issues In liaison with curriculum areas support students to face barriers to learning and make effective progress through effective monitoring and target setting. To undertake the role of the college’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring full compliance with KCSIE statutory guidance and other relevant legislation, as well as our college’s policies and procedures Skills/Experience: Effective knowledge of Safeguarding processes and procedures. Have Significant experience of supporting children and vulnerable adults with challenging circumstances Capacity to use IT systems to record and manage student interventions Experience of managing complex caseloads Qualifications: One or more of the following; Psychology/education (supporting/teaching) / Youth Work/ Health and Wellbeing qualification Mental Health Qualification Knowledge of community, social and voluntary provision within the wider HE economy English and maths to at least a level 2 Designated Safeguarding Lead or willing to obtain Ideal Attributes: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work off of own initiative and manage complex caseloads Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, agencies, parents/carers Ability to travel independently across sites ?
