Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality equipment and systems. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Works Supervisor to oversee production operations, improve efficiency, and ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Role Overview:
The Works Supervisor is responsible for organizing and monitoring workflow, delegating tasks, and improving employee efficiency while maintaining a safe and effective working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delegate tasks to ensure production deadlines are met.
* Organize production sequencing to maximize factory floor efficiency in line with delivery requirements.
* Monitor and report performance to the Managing Director and Operations Manager.
* Provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing costs, including product design and component selection.
* Address production issues and organize the repair or replacement of faulty equipment.
* Recruit, train, and manage employees, including retraining or disciplining staff as necessary.
* Establish and maintain relationships with other departments, particularly Design and Purchasing.
* Ensure adherence to safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Proficient in fabrication and welding.
* Working knowledge of:
* Horizontal boring
* Radial drilling
* Milling and lathe turning
* Surface preparation and painting
* Hydraulic and mechanical assembly
* Leadership and delegation skills.
* Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Familiarity with electronics applied to the control of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
