Job Description
The Learning Support Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs within the education setting. The main duties include:
Job Duties:
1. Assisting students on a 1-1 basis with their learning activities under the guidance of the teaching staff
2. Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help
3. Helping to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment
4. Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
5. Supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties
6. Assisting with the monitoring of student progress and reporting back to teaching staff
7. Attending Training days and sessions set up by school
Required Qualifications:
8. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
9. Relevant experience working with individuals with additional learning needs
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
12. Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
13. Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
14. Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
15. Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of students
Preferred Qualifications:
16. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
17. First Aid training
18. Mental Health Awareness training
Driving is desirable however the school does sits on a bus route

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
