About Us Families First is a Welsh Government funded programme, helping to improve outcomes for children, young people and families, as well as supporting them to thrive and reach their potential. The Vale Parenting Service support families with children between 0 -18 across the Vale of Glamorgan to build on strengths and make positive changes, enabling parents to feel more confident in managing behaviour, routines and boundaries. We focus on promoting emotional wellbeing and supporting positive family relationships. We deliver parenting programmes in a small group setting or offer a 1:1 bespoke intervention in line with what the family see as the focus of support required. About The Role Pay Details: Grade 8 SCP 26-30: £36,124 – £39,513 Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 5 days/ 37 hours Main Place of Work: Community Enterprise Centre, Skomer Road, Barry Temporary Reason: Up to 12-month Maternity Cover Description: This role will sit within the Vale Parenting Service in the Vale of Glamorgan, working in partnership with other local support services. The Vale Parenting Service Lead will oversee the day-to-day delivery of Vale Parenting Service. This can include timely allocation of referrals, coordination and planning of parenting support across the local authority, responding to safeguarding concerns across the team and performance and data management. The role also includes the supervision of a team of parenting practitioners. About You You will need : Experience of working directly in Family Support. Experience of supervising a team. Effective management and leadership skills. Experience of partnership work and working with multi agency teams. Effective knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Good IT skills with the ability to use a range of IT packages and database systems. Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
