About the Role:
The school is looking for an art specialist and is happy to consider teachers making a transition from mainstream education. Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques. You will have a senior teaching assistant and 2-3 additional LSAs in your class to support you.
Responsibilities:
1. Implementing a highly modified curriculum that meets the significant language needs of students.
2. Utilizing specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS.
3. Preparing students for GCSE subjects and building a curriculum tailored to their individual needs.
4. Collaborating with a team of therapists including SALTs, occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors.
Requirements:
1. QTS is essential; the school will not consider unqualified teachers.
2. Experience in special education is preferred.
