We are recruiting for an Operations Manager with experience of Hard Landscaping within the new build sector. On offer is a salary of up to £48,000 per year (negotiable based on experience) plus car or car allowance, the opportunity for progression and hybrid working.
As the Operations Manager you will be joining a company that specialises in outdoor space design and construction projects for both residential and commercial developers across the UK. Their clients include housing developers, local authorities, holiday parks etc., with projects including hard & soft landscaping, safety surfacing, playground installations, skate parks, gym zones, sports pitches and padel courts.
As the Operations Manager you will be:
* Responsible for project scheduling and managing, pre-start meetings, site visits and inspections which will include travelling to sites across the UK and managing multiple installation projects concurrently.
* Working to ensure all allocated projects are delivered safely on time, to budget, to contractual specifications, meet both financial and quality requirements and are completed to client’s satisfaction.
* Offering best in sector customer service and developing strong relationships with key clients.
* Ensuring the financial integrity and resource planning of all assigned projects.
* Ensuring all prestart processes are followed, that site surveys, risk assessments and method statements are prepared ahead of installation and that any site specific requirements are noted and communicated to the build team.
* Supporting senior management and sales teams in pre-tender meetings and throughout the tender process including client facing meetings.
* Liaising with a variety of customers including house builders, local authorities, commercial developers, private clients etc.,
Requirements
As the Operations Manager you will need:
* A good grounding and understanding of hard landscaping installation projects with experience of the new build housing sector including both private & social housing.
* Strong administration, project scheduling and management skills.
* Experience of managing and motivating directly employed and sub-contractor teams.
* An eye for detail and be used to achieving high standard construction projects.
* To be a confident communicator with the ability to work with customers to manage their expectations, resolving any issues etc., and to be proactive in seeing opportunities for additional and new business opportunities.
* To be used to both the operational and administration side of construction project management and be confident in your ability to plan, schedule, amend or re-arrange projects as required.
* To be happy to travel to sites across the UK.
* Experience in working under a JCT form of Contract and of managing subcontractor orders.
