Are you an experienced or newly qualified nurse looking to develop your clinical skills in Dermatology? We are currently looking to recruit Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our dedicated Dermatology Outpatient team. We seek enthusiastic, conscientious, and ambitious individuals who are committed to providing excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based individualised care plans.
* Provide appropriate nursing evidence-based care for an allocated group of patients.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team using resources efficiently.
* Deliver quality care to patients and supervise the working of junior staff during the span of duty.
* Competent in carrying out a variety of clinical procedures.
Job responsibilities
* Contribute to a culture that recognises and works in partnership with patients and their families.
* Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans, ensuring safe discharge and collaboration with medical teams.
* Willingness to take on extended roles (e.g., IV administration, cannulation, venepuncture, care of central lines).
* Work within the NMC code of professional practice and Trust policies.
* Ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained and act when standards are not met.
* Recognise changes in a patient's condition and refer as appropriate.
* Act as an advocate for patients and their families, promoting their interests and rights.
* Act as a Link Nurse within a defined specialty area.
* Be involved in Trust initiatives to improve patient safety and care.
Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* NMC Registered Nurse in relevant field of practice (or within 6 months of completing a validated BSc or MSc course).
* Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete.
* Additional post-registration qualification relevant to the field of practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Role-specific training relevant to the specialty of the post.
* Teaching qualification.
* Leadership qualification.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based nursing care.
* Experience working with patients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* Experience working as part of a team with the ability to prioritise workload.
* Knowledge and skill in infection prevention and control principles.
* IT literacy and ability to use NHS systems.
* Competence in specialty-specific extended skills or willingness to undertake necessary training.
* Clinical experience in the specialty.
* Skills in research and audit methodology.
* Evidence of introducing change and innovation into nursing practice.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
