Reed Education is seeking both part-time and full-time Teaching Assistants for special educational needs (SEN) schools in the Wakefield area, starting as soon as possible. Role Responsibilities: Classroom Support: Work within small groups of learners, providing support throughout lessons. Academic Assistance: Help each learner with their academic progress, whether re-engaging them after they go off-task or assisting with problem-solving. Behavior Management : Support the class teacher in maintaining and controlling pupil behaviour, enforcing the behavioral discipline system when necessary. Communication : Liaise with Managers/Behaviour Managers regarding pupil behaviours and support any serious incidents. Organisation : Ensure all group work is completed, filed, and organised for the next lesson to track pupil progress and engagement. Ideal Candidate: Encouraging and Enthusiastic : A positive attitude towards supporting learners. Experience : Previous experience supporting learners with ASD, Down Syndrome, and non-verbal communication. Behaviour Management : Ability to implement behavior management strategies and support students in crisis. Specialised Experience : Previous experience working with SEMH/SEN students and managing challenging behaviour.
