Occupational Therapy Band 7 for Acute and Urgent Care (mental health) 18 Months Fixed Term.

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you may be interested in applying for the role to provide professional and clinical leadership to occupational therapists who work in integrated inpatient ward teams. The focus of the role will be holding a complex caseload and delivering clinical Occupational Therapy alongside band 5 and band 6 OTs where appropriate. You will work closely with multi-professional colleagues, particularly nursing colleagues, to develop and embed the integrated clinical model, enhancing opportunities for the delivery of occupational therapy with a focus on achieving a therapeutic environment, supporting recovery, effective discharge planning, and improving physical health.
Main duties of the job
Essential criteria include a keen interest, clinical experience, leadership, advanced communication skills, and a flexible approach. You will need to have a vision to implement service improvement initiatives and drive the services forward as part of the Acute Management team. You will possess the ability to work autonomously, multitask, and be self-organised, promoting further development and influencing high-quality clinical practice. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high standards of safe patient care in line with National guidance. You will monitor and implement local management and treatment protocols and pathways. In return, we will be committed to supporting your professional training needs and personal development plan. The successful candidate will have a good opportunity to develop a range of skills within a varied portfolio, with the support of an existing network of supportive and experienced Lead Occupational Therapists and Ward Managers.
The successful candidate is required to work full time - 37.5hrs Monday to Friday and will be included in the Acute Managers on-call cover; training will be provided. The post covers services that are spread across the city.
