Position Title: Caretaker cleaner 4.8
Part Time Permanent
Working 10 hours per week, term time only, with additional hours during school holidays to be agreed.
Weekly hours: 2 hours per day, 3:30-5:30pm - this can be flexible but post holder will need to be on site by 4:30pm
Grade: 01
SCP Range: 2 to 4
Salary Range: £23,656 - £24,404 full time equivalent
Hourly rate £12.20-£12.65 based on prior experience
Employment Start Date: 3rd February 2025
The Governors are looking to appoint a Caretaker cleaner to join our team. The role involves doing a variety of tasks to keep our school a safe and healthy environment for everyone whilst taking a real pride in our school building and grounds, ensuring they are kept meticulously clean. The post holder will be the main keyholder and responsible for the security of the school premises. They would be responsible for a range of duties, including: minor repairs/handy person jobs, minor painting/decorating, window cleaning, storing furniture/deliveries, general portering, locking up/setting alarm system, weekly fire alarm checks, Health & Safety checks, putting the bins out for collection and other duties as required.
Experiencing of working in a maintenance role together with a working knowledge of health and safety procedures would be an advantage, as would a willingness to undertake training. The ability to be able to work on your own initiative is essential.
