Sherfield School is looking to recruit a recent sports graduate with ambitions towards a career in teaching to join us in September 2025. Working within the PE team and across the age range, the successful candidate will be an organised, positive and passionate individual with a strong work ethic. They will be highly motivated, able to work collegiately and have the vision to shape this new and exciting role in a truly fabulous educational environment. Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive but are indicative of the requirements of this role.
* Work with the Director of Sport and the PE team in building a strong sporting culture across the school.
* Assist in the planning of lessons and deliver coaching across a range of year groups, catering for pupils of varying abilities with appropriate support or challenge as required.
* Work collaboratively with fellow PE staff and communicate with staff and parents as required.
* Provide administrative support for the PE department.
* To participate fully in the Co-Curricular programme, assisting with the running of clubs, both before and after school.
* To coach teams across a range of year groups and sports, supporting with training and umpiring on match days.
* To contribute to all areas of the PE department, including planning for sporting events and tournaments.
* To participate fully in the school’s Professional Learning programme.
* To promote the good work of the school in the wider community .
* Every member of staff has a duty to commit to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils at the school
