How you'll make a difference
By leading the delivery of the ASYE programme, you will be playing a key role in supporting newly qualified Social Workers in their first year of employment. You will provide the strategic direction of the programme, working closely with operational teams and Principal Social Workers, to ensure the programme meets operational requirements, while supporting the recruitment and retention of Social Workers.
What will you be doing?
1. It will be your responsibility to manage our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme ensuring newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) receive support, feedback, advice and development opportunities.
2. You will set targets, monitor performance and review potential changes to the programme to ensure it is delivered successfully.
3. By working closely with stake holders, suppliers and partners, you will negotiate and manage projects that meet business needs and nationally agreed service standards.
4. Using your experience and knowledge, you will provide training and information sessions, to ensure the understanding of the area of expertise is developed.
5. To help maintain high quality and consistent customer service, you will ensure that agreed standards are achieved across a wide range of services and Service Level Agreements are adhered to. You will take ownership for responding to and resolving queries and complaints.
What we need from you
6. You must have a relevant professional qualification in social work.
7. We require you to have significant post-qualification experience, with relevant expertise in social work and safeguarding.
8. To meet the organisations and partnerships requirements, you must be able to co-ordinate projects and work programmes, to meet identified outcomes and quality standards.
9. Given the nature of the role, you must be able to use initiative, be flexible to changing work requirements and manage competing demands and pressures.
10. It is essential that you are able to coach, mentor and advise the team, individual managers and staff.
11. You must be able to moderate portfolio work and give constructive feedback in line with the council’s values and the KSS and PCF’s of social work.
12. You will have the ability to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate workshops to NQSWs, Assessors, PDAs and Managers.
