Rate of Pay: £13.46 - £17.43 per Hour
Summary:
We are seeking motivated Drivers to join the dedicated Waste and Recycling team at Powys County Council. This essential service plays a key role in supporting one of the top-performing recycling authorities in Wales. As a W&R Operative, you will help ensure efficient collection of waste and recycling while making a meaningful impact on the environment and community.
Responsibilities:
* Drive and operate waste and recycling collection vehicles safely and in line with Council procedures.
* Carry out daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance.
* Assist in the physical collection and sorting of recycling and waste materials.
* Ensure proper handling of contaminated materials and communicate procedures to the public.
* Promote recycling awareness and assist with enforcement duties where necessary.
* Accurately record data using handheld electronic devices.
* Work collaboratively within a team to maintain high service delivery standards.
Essentials:
* Considerable experience in waste and recycling operations.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in waste & recycling collection.
* HGV/LGV full driving licence (Category C).
* Health and Safety Certificate (IOSH Managing Safely or willingness to work towards it).
* Strong knowledge of geographical areas and safe driving practices.
