This is an exciting opportunity to join Bolton Council’s Strategic Commissioning Team as the strategic commissioning lead for the Living Well portfolio.
The ideal candidate will lead the strategic commissioning of Live Well services in line with the borough plan. They will develop specialist supported housing to ensure adequate accommodation for people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Bolton.
Strengthening partnerships with the NHS and VCSE organisations, they will drive joint commissioning and system integration. They will champion co-design, ensuring service users, families, carers, and advocates shape service planning and delivery.
They will develop a systematic commissioning approach based on robust needs analysis and oversee service delivery, adapting to changing population needs. Managing provider markets effectively, they will work with partners, individuals, and families across Bolton.
The candidate will lead strategic commissioning improvement projects and provide challenge, support, and project management to ensure the successful implementation of improvement and integration strategies.
About You
The ideal candidate is an experienced commissioner with a strong grasp of strategy, policy, and legislation. Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, they build strong relationships and foster multi-agency collaboration. A skilled leader and decision-maker, they have a proven track record of improving services.
Strategic yet hands-on, they work closely with providers to enhance service delivery. They manage multiple projects effectively and have strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Positive about change, they drive innovation and cultural shifts to improve services across the Council and Integrated Care Partnership. They overcome barriers to deliver results and work independently to achieve better outcomes for Bolton’s residents.
