We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated health care assistant to work across our TB and Respiratory Services within the community.
The role will provide support to patients under the care of qualified clinicians supporting them to live well in the community and achieve good health outcomes. You will be expected to support the current staff in post with TB screening, pulmonary rehab and the delivery of care in both community and clinic settings.
Development through the Nursing associate pathway will be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide advice and instruction to patients to explain any procedures being undertaken.
2. Communicate with practice staff and GP’s regarding results and collection of specimens.
3. Refer patient queries to the nursing staff in a timely fashion.
4. Report any change or deviation from planned care package to nursing staff.
5. Recognise abnormal results following monitoring and inform nursing staff.
6. Undertake the delivery of patient care packages under the supervision of nursing staff.
7. Manage and prioritise workload.
8. Undertake set nursing procedures following training and assessment e.g. phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, preparing patients as necessary prior to procedure, using aseptic technique.
9. Undertake the screening of patients for TB, support with the find and treat events and any mass screening that is required.
10. Support in pulmonary rehab to ensure patients follow a plan of care to maximise their time on the programme.
11. Driving skills, including in icy and snowy conditions.
12. Acquire core skills in basic physiotherapy, nursing care and nursing techniques.
13. Implement packages of care, therapy or treatment prescribed by qualified members of the team, initially with supervision.
14. Support patients in achieving goals set in care packages.
15. Deliver prescribed medication to patients, operating within set protocols.
