The American Bar is the longest surviving cocktail bar in London and one of the most renowned in the world. The American Bar first opened in 1893 and has since served countless well-known faces, from Winston Churchill to Ernest Hemingway. It is led by award winning Head Bartender Chelsie Bailey and Bar Manager Andrea Di Chiara.
About the Beaufort Bar
The dramatic jet-black and gold décor of the Beaufort Bar provides the perfect setting for glamour and luxury. It is the hidden gem in the hotel with a discreet entrance and a cool late night vibe. Open from Thursday to Saturday nights, with a DJ playing sultry tunes after dark, the Beaufort Bar is the most charismatic of London locations to enjoy creative cocktails, prestige spirits and rare vintages. The Beaufort Bar’s menu, takes guests on a journey across centuries and through flavours. Focusing on the finest wines and Champagnes, with cocktails created to evoke the very specific flavour bouquets of the Champagne region and a luxurious bar dining menu, Nocturne creates a night-time world of seduction and indulgence.

Your purpose will be:
The Bar-Back will provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service in a luxury 5-star brand inspired hotel bar/lounge where attention to detail is key
You will be accountable for:
1. Carry out specific tasks for Bar Back to ensure smooth running of the bar.
2. To attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guest’s needs and to remain in the restaurant at all times during service.
3. To produce drinks orders accurately and in timely fashion meeting service essentials timings.
4. Help to ensure the smooth running of all guests requirements and needs on each table.
5. To provide assistance to in all areas of the restaurants
6. To attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guests’ needs and to remain in the restaurant at all times during service.
7. To effectively manage your time and productivity whilst at work.
8. To ensure a clean stocked bar for a smooth running of the bar areas.
9. To ensure a clean fridges for a smooth running service.
10. To prepare appropriate mise-en-place, glasses, garnishes.
11. To clean and vacuum in and around the restaurant areas as required and directed by the manager on duty.
12. To keep a high Standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
13. To approach the guest in the correct manner as laid out by Fairmont Standards.
14. To use the guests name whenever possible, in accordance with Fairmont Standards.
15. To have full knowledge of the food and drinks menu, to be able to explain and recommend and sell dishes to our guest.
16. To follow and complete any instructions given to you by your Managers.
17. To attend briefings and departmental meetings.
18. To speak English at all times within the Savoy Hotel.
19. To have good Micros skills and follow correctly the Micros billing system.
Qualifications
What you will need to do this role:
20. 1-3 years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry.
21. Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal.
22. Proven organizational skills, works well on their own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
