Based at the main Rassau plant, the vacancy will be permanent subject to a satisfactory probationary period. You will work as a member of the Engineering Department team.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. To provide support to production operations in all issues.
2. Carry out shift to shift activities by prioritising productions needs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
3. Engage as a member of the multi-skilled Engineering team, working with the team to continuously improve the maintenance function.
4. Diagnosis and resolution of equipment breakdown issues.
5. Involvement in projects, plant improvement and equipment manufacture.
6. Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance activities.
7. To provide site support for the building and facility maintenance and security.
8. Ensuring safe working of all plant and equipment within Health & Safety requirements.
9. Reacting effectively to minimise machine downtime, while executing planned preventative maintenance activities to increase machine availability and performance.
10. An understanding of the manufacturing process which allows integration of the engineering team, with production personnel.
11. Documented activity report.
12. Effective shift handover.
13. Engineering stores stock levels are maintained.
14. 5S housekeeping within engineering workshop, work area and stores area.
Person Specification
1. High level of self-motivation and time management skills.
2. Ability to organise and prioritise own workload around production requirements.
3. Flexibility with all aspects of work activities including shifts and overtime.
4. Strong work ethic.
5. Good communication skills.
Qualifications/Experience
1. Timed served apprentice.
2. Minimum ONC, or equivalent qualification.
3. Multi skilled, formal electrical qualification with demonstratable mechanical experience.
Experience with the following is desirable:
1. Instrumentation systems (Thermocouples, level control, loop control).
2. Inverter drive control.
3. Fault finding & diagnostics skills.
4. Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
5. Competent in the use of a lathe, MIG welder and other workshop equipment.
Additional skills desirable:
1. 18th edition I.E.E regulations.
2. FLT/MEWP Training.
3. CMMS experience.
4. 5S, Continuous Improvement.
Hours
12 hour shifts 6am – 6pm days shift and 6pm – 6am nights shift, 24/4 shift pattern Monday – Thursday.
