As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo in Hurstpierpoint College, 'Hurst Street', Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9JS ( Limited bus service so must drive), you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of everyone's everyday experience.

What You’ll Do:
* Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
* Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard:
o Floors & Walls
o Bins – inside and out
o Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes
o Fridges & Freezers (with assistance from chefs)
o Delivery areas
* Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
* Transport provisions, equipment and other catering related items as required.
* Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing your work, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
* Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
* Report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor.
* Ensure that all food is prepared in the environment with due care and attention particularly in regard to customers special dietary requirements; for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies.
What You Bring:
* Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
* Basic food-handling skills.
* Ability to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
* No previous work experience required.
