Job Title: Drylining Estimator Location: London & Buckinghamshire Company: Leading Specialists in Drylining and Interior Finishing Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Drylining Estimator to join our team and contribute to the growth of our business. As a Drylining Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of drylining projects, preparing tender documents, and ensuring that bids are competitive and profitable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating within the construction industry, with specific experience in drylining, partitions, and interior finishing systems. Key Responsibilities: Project Estimation: Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for drylining, partitioning, suspended ceilings, and related interior systems from drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. Tender Preparation: Manage the end-to-end tender process, including take-offs, pricing, and submission of bids for both public and private sector projects. Client Liaison: Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and gather the necessary information for accurate costing. Cost Analysis: Perform thorough cost analysis, including labour, materials, and subcontractor rates, ensuring that estimates are competitive while maintaining profitability. Value Engineering: Provide value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality or performance. Project Handover: Collaborate with project managers and the operations team to ensure that project budgets, scopes, and expectations are clearly communicated and understood before the commencement of work. Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks within project estimates, ensuring realistic pricing based on market conditions and project scope. Supplier Negotiation: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive rates and favourable terms. Requirements: Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on drylining, partitions, ceilings, or similar interior systems. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building regulations related to drylining. Proficiency in using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ConQuest, Causeway, or similar tools). Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of current industry costs and material pricing. Full understanding of the tendering process and bid documentation requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience with both traditional and design-and-build contracts.
