Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Needed in Southampton SEMH School - Permanent Opportunity!
Location: SO16, Southampton
Job Type: Full-Time, Opportunity to go Permanent, Monday to Friday
Salary: £90-£100 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: January 2024

The Role:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join this excellent team. As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them access their learning, and ensuring that they receive the emotional and behavioral support they need throughout the school day. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people and helping them to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs.
2. Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning, both academically and socially.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
4. Support the classroom teacher with the delivery of tailored lessons and activities.
5. Encourage positive behaviors and social skills development.
6. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or other additional needs (preferred, but not essential).
2. A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students with a range of learning and emotional challenges.
3. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
4. A commitment to supporting the social and emotional development of students.
