Mechanical Project Manager
The Fastrack Department of our client is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Mechanical Project Manager to join their team. Our client was established over 30 years ago and delivers commercial HVAC, commercial electrical installations, and renewable energy systems nationally.
As a business, they focus on installing large combined M&E projects, maintaining energy-focused systems including smart lighting, general power, solar PV, EV charging, BMS systems, and HVAC controls. Their contracted work extends to retail, NHS sites, schools, and care homes.
Outline of Role:
The Role: Mechanical Contracts Manager
1. Manage Mechanical projects up to £1 million.
2. Be responsible for material and sub-contract purchasing.
3. Oversee Supervisors, plumbers, pipefitters, labourers, apprentices, and sub-contractors.
4. Liaise with project & site teams to control & review all contract work.
5. Prepare estimates for future works.
6. Exhibit good leadership & integrity in all aspects of the role.
7. Ensure Health & Safety and QA compliance is maintained at all times on sites and work locations, including completing and issuing relevant RAMS.
8. Handle customer enquiries and carry out site surveys/visits.
9. Manage project planning.
10. Address variations and monthly applications.
11. Ensure projects are completed within the required timescale and on budget.
Skills and Experience Required:
* SMSTS
* First Aid Certificate
* Asbestos Awareness
* NVQ level 3 in Heating and Ventilation (Gas systems)
* Mechanical maintenance
* Experience with plant room installations and troubleshooting design errors.
* Familiarity with various materials on different systems (ABS, Steel, Copper, Uponor, etc.)
* Unvented hot water qualification
* Any F Gas experience
* Ordering and take-offs; experience in costing projects and maintaining relationships with merchants.
* CSCS Management Card

Qualifications and Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role preferred
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Experience working with contracts between £20,000 and £1 million
* Time served as a Mechanical Engineer or strong understanding of electrical services or equivalent
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per year
