We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Engineer to join a dynamic team. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and assembling a variety of equipment, machinery, or tools within the workshop environment. You will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for engineering problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities as a Workshop Engineer:
* Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose faults, service, repair, and test a wide range of machinery or tools.
* Assembly and Installation: Assemble and set up new machinery or equipment as per manufacturer guidelines.
* Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on workshop tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet quality standards and are completed within the agreed time frames.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to workshop safety standards and procedures, including risk assessments, safe handling of tools, and maintaining a clean and organised work space.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service logs, inspection reports, and parts usage.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team and provide technical support when required.
Skills and Qualifications Essential:
* Proven experience as a Workshop Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
* Proficient in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and workshop machinery.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
Desirable:
* Vocational or technical certification in engineering or related field.
* Knowledge of specific equipment relevant to the industry (e.g., heavy machinery, automotive, etc.).
