Are you passionate about swimming? Here at Northern Community Leisure Trust, our goal is to get more people active by providing affordable, safe, and enjoyable lessons for all. We are currently recruiting for swimming teachers to grow our programmes and ensure we can achieve this goal.
By following the tried and tested Swim Ireland learn to swim framework, we develop confidence in all our swimmers through fun and enjoyable lessons. Many of our swimmers have progressed to swim competitively and even represent our country.
As a swimming teacher, you will deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons. We also prioritize our teachers' careers and personal development, offering contracts for as few or as many teaching hours as you want around your current commitments.
We cover the costs of your safeguarding and DBS checks, and you will also be covered by our insurance. Working for us allows you to operate within all our leisure centres and provides excellent personal and career development through continued training and learning opportunities.
Our in-house Aquatic Training Academy will provide ongoing training through our specialist CPDs in swimming teaching, enabling you to access a range of training throughout your career. There is also a solid pathway for progression into management or other areas in the business.
What you’ll need to do the role:
1. Excellent customer service skills and a willingness to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
2. A STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim Ireland Level 2 is required.
3. Holding a valid RLSS UK NPLQ, RLSS UK NRASTC, or STA Safety Award for Teachers is advantageous but not essential, as we can provide free training to complete these courses.
