Monarch Education is seeking a qualified Geography Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school on a temp-to-perm basis. This exciting opportunity is open to Geography specialists with experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to develop a passion for Geography, contributing to their academic success and personal development.

Key Responsibilities of a Geography Teacher:
1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Geography lessons for students in KS3, KS4, and KS5.
2. Adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
3. Use a range of teaching methods to inspire student interest and develop their critical thinking skills.
4. Incorporate fieldwork, map skills, and geographical investigations to enhance learning.
5. Encourage students to appreciate the relevance of Geography to their everyday lives and the world around them.
6. Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior, promoting a respectful and focused classroom environment.
7. Implement effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
8. Maintain a safe environment for students, particularly during practical activities and fieldwork.
9. Regularly assess student progress through assignments, tests, and classwork.
10. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve academically and personally.
11. Use assessment data to track student progress, identify areas for development, and support individual learning needs.
12. Work collaboratively with the Geography department to review and enhance the curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, relevant, and challenging.
13. Support students in preparing for their GCSE and A-Level exams, helping them achieve their best results.
14. Provide guidance and pastoral care to support students' academic and emotional development.
15. Foster positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and helping them overcome challenges.
16. Participate in extracurricular activities and enrichment programs to support students' broader development.
17. Contribute to regular departmental meetings, sharing best practices and ideas to improve teaching and learning.
18. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
19. Take part in continuous professional development, attending training and workshops to stay up-to-date with developments in Geography teaching.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
2. A degree in Geography or a related field.
3. Proven experience of teaching Geography at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
4. Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and the ability to engage students in the subject.
5. Experience of using a variety of assessment methods to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
6. Excellent classroom management skills.
7. Strong communication and organisational skills.
8. A passion for Geography and a desire to inspire students.
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team.
10. A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching and problem-solving.
