Underwater Signal Research Scientist - Staffordshire - On-Site Role overview We are looking for a confident communicator to join a large tech business operating on the global stage, within this role you will join a small team of professionals developing solutions to bespoke problems and analysing complex underwater datasets with a view to influencing the development next generation ship profiles, and ship systems. Day-To-Day Role Responsibilities Within this role you will be working on a variety of modelling, scientific and programming tasks across the following areas: Magnetic, Electronic, and Electromagnetic modelling and field propagation in conductive and non-conductive media Finite Element Analysis and Boundary Element Analysis Underwater Analysis of electromagnetic, acoustic, pressure, and seismic signatures Numerical and Optimisation Methods Modern Control Theory Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Hold a degree, Masters, or PhD in Physics, Maths or a related area Strong background with C++ programming Experience with some of the following: Electromagnetic Modelling Vector Fields Finite Element Analysis (FEA) COMSOL Multiphysics MATLAB or Simulink Confidence writing reports and briefs Confident communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders Occasional travel to alternate sites
