I am delighted to be representing a leading organisation in the Insurance industry, with a strong reputation for excellence and innovation. They are looking for a Statutory Accountant to report to the Assistant Managers and take on the preparation of statutory accounts, board reporting, and technical accounting papers. You will work closely with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy. You will also have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc projects, such as liquidation/dissolution of entities and assisting with acquisitions.
Your new role
As a Statutory Accountant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in various areas of the business and learn about the core processes. You will be part of a diverse and supportive team that works together to deliver high-quality service. Your main responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, board reporting, and technical accounting papers for multiple legal entities within the UK Group structure. You will also ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, internal policies, and professional ethics. You will work closely with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and transparency. You will also support the Assistant Manager and the team in carrying out duties in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and good governance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CA or equivalent) with UK GAAP/US GAAP experience. Working or previously worked for a large accounting/audit firm is desirable, as you will need to have strong technical accounting skills and knowledge. You will also need to be comfortable working within a demanding environment with strict deadlines, and be organised, proactive, and enthusiastic. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and have excellent communication and presentation skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and also as part of a team. You will also need to be eligible to work in the UK.
