Orka Financial is partnering with an established global business based in Guildford, who are looking to hire a proactive Finance Assistant to join their progressive finance department. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT/ACCA/CIMA studier to manage financial ledgers, process transactions and be involved with month-end procedures engaging with process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Daily Transaction Processing: Process and record daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments. Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate posting of transactions into the accounting system. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure proper documentation is kept for all entries. Month-End Support: Assist with the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries. Help in the preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis. Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments. Support in the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in the management of accounts payable, ensuring that invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. Help with the management of accounts receivable, including generating invoices, monitoring overdue payments, and assisting with collections. Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. Provide support with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules. General Finance Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including data entry and filing of financial documents. Assist with bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and other routine finance tasks.
