The South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team is responsible for gathering and developing intelligence from HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and other associated establishments relating to national security issues and organised crime.
The prison hub is supported by a number of Prison Intelligence Officers (PIOs) who are expected to work within the regional establishments. Working alongside HMPPS, they identify and exploit intelligence opportunities with a view of mitigating risk and disrupting offenders.
Position Overview
We now have an officer position available on a secondment basis to join the team until February 2026. The successful candidate will be the point of contact between law enforcement and the prison service, providing support, advice and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the management of prisoners who present a risk to national security or commit/facilitate organised crime.
2. Effectively gather and develop intelligence from HMPPS and other associated establishments.
3. Share relevant intelligence with law enforcement and partner agencies.
