QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN - Weekend Days

Weekend Days - Friday to Sunday 6am-6pm
£15.75 per hour
The Quality Assurance Technician will have and demonstrate a willingness to take responsibility for the decisions made, basic competencies in the area of quality management and develop the ability to analyse root causes and take corrective actions. They will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and improvement of procedures related to measurements, physical and chemical assessments and the coordination of related tasks. The position requires close cooperation with internal groups/working groups using direct and written communication.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the production process and preparing reports after the changeover
2. Assisting line cleaning processes and collecting data (microbiological tests)
3. Collection and review of current data related to the production process, including the results of sensory assessments
4. Assisting in the training of employees in procedures and quality instructions, applicable rules of GMP / GHP, HACCP, line cleaning, methods of dealing with non-compliance, product quality control and allergens.
5. Continuous supervision of quality instructions and procedures and verification of the accuracy of documents in accordance with the customer's expectations and quality system. Areas for improvement will be discussed in the form of training.
6. Laboratory work (baking, cutting, reporting, analysing and cleaning)
7. Coordination of positive release process and sensory panels - sensory assessment
8. Assistance in conducting production tests (measurements, sample storage, sensory assessment results, data, reports, SPC, capability study)
9. Conducting laboratory tests and organizing sensory assessment tests
10. Conducting lab testing for Flour analysis as part of customer standards
11. Participation in hold process for affected product (isolation, marking, blocking in the ERP system, putting on HOLD, release)
12. Calibrate equipment to understand and document the most cost-effective ways to use the quality tools (farinograph, moisture analyzer, c-cell, temperature probes, fridges etc.) necessary for inspections
13. Aiding the Supervision of non-compliances, search for root causes and collection of required data
14. Full support to the quality department during audits
15. Entering data into an electronic database
16. Completion of glass and plastic audits for the site weekly
17. Participation in trainings organized in customer restaurants, organized in the form of observation and simulation of work on the preparation of meals and operation of related kitchen appliances
18. Actively participate in and lead quality initiatives undertaken in the plant.
19. Identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action to minimize and eliminate uncertainties about product quality and safety.
20. Comply with all Bama policies, procedures and policies
21. The work requires the ability to recognise colours.
22. Work involves the risk of contact with potential allergens.
The Person:
1. Secondary Level education (GCSE level or equivalent)
2. Knowledge of MS office system (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
3. Knowledge of basic mathematical functions
4. Practical problem-solving skills
5. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Principles, food safety and cleaning processes.
6. Documented previous work experience
7. Perform the basic functions and physical requirements of the task with or without reasonable accommodation
8. Attend work regularly and punctually, work in the assigned position/area throughout the shift
9. Understand the manufacturing process, including understanding and auditing the most important programs supporting the process of cleaning, maintenance and inspection of equipment/area.
10. Be able to prioritise their time and workload.
11. Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
12. Learn to summarize the information that will help you prepare a report.
Salary: £13.70 per hour plus 15% shift allowance - £15.75 per hour - 33 hours per week.
Holidays: 27 days
